Homecoming schedule update: KU Homecoming Kickoff Pep Rally cancelled

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Due to a high probability of adverse weather projected for late Friday evening (rain), Kansas Athletics, along with KU Alumni Association and The Granada Theater have decided to cancel the LIVE on MASS KU Homecoming Kickoff pep rally scheduled for 7:45 p.m. The Granada will move the William Clark Green show inside the Theater and the show is still FREE and for all ages.

All other previously scheduled Homecoming events are still currently scheduled to take place as originally planned, including the annual Homecoming parade. In the event of dangerous weather, a final decision on the status of the parade will be made by 4 p.m., on Friday. Please check www.kualumni.org for updates.

Jayhawk fans are encouraged to head out to Rock Chalk Park as the KU soccer team will play host to the first-ever Dillons Sunflower Showdown against rival Kansas State at 7 p.m. Fans attending the match can pick up a limited edition 2017 Kansas soccer scarf, while supplies last.

Prior to the contest, a Far Post Tailgate will take place at Rock Chalk Park, with inflatables, music, food trucks and more. KU soccer will also be celebrating Alumni Day, with Jayhawk soccer alums being recognized during pre-game ceremonies.

Additionally, a bus will provide transportation for KU students to and from Rock Chalk Park from the residence halls on Daisy Hill starting at 5:45 p.m., and free pizza will be available to all KU students while supplies last.

Kansas’ 105th Homecoming celebration will culminate with the Jayhawks’ football game against Texas Tech on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m., in Memorial Stadium.

Tickets for the Homecoming game versus Texas Tech are available by contacting the Kansas Sales Team via phone at 800-34-HAWKS or in-person at the Allen Fieldhouse ticket office. Tickets may also be purchased via KUTickets.com.
