Jayhawks to host FC Kansas City in exhibition Monday

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas soccer will continue its spring exhibition season on Monday, April 10 when the Jayhawks welcome FC Kansas City for a 7 p.m. match at Rock Chalk Park. Admission will be free to the public.
 
The Jayhawks will take on the two-time champions of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), FC Kansas City, which is preparing to open its regular season on April 16. KU and FCKC have met each of the last four springs, all in exhibition play, with the pros coming out on top in each match, including a 3-0 a year ago.
 
The contest will be the second of the spring season for the Jayhawks, who topped the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 2-1, in the spring opener last week in Lawrence. Freshmen Katie McClure and Sophie Maierhofer were the Kansas goal scorers.
 
Following its match with the Blues Monday, Kansas will hit the road its first of two away contests in its spring season. The Jayhawks will take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, April 12. Kickoff from Fayetteville is slated for 1 p.m.
